Kids Ministry
Our Savior’s has been a family-friendly church since its founding. Already by 1961 we determined to offer our community the option of a Christ-centered elementary school. Our Savior’s Lutheran School and Preschool is a safe, secure, and effective alternative for children of all backgrounds. Beyond the tall commitment to operate a Lutheran elementary and preschool Our Savior’s offers children these connections to Jesus’ family:
· Holy Baptism – In the waters of baptism Jesus claims children of all ages and brings the Holy Spirit to the hearts of little ones that are dear to our Lord. · Sunday School – All children, PreK through 5th grade, are served on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in our Sunday school. For most of the year we offer lessons using biblical curriculum from Concordia Publishing House. Children interact with teachers to learn Bible stories and foundational truths of the Christian faith. They also have fun singing and making crafts that support the day’s message.
· Vacation Bible School – Each summer, about the last week of June, Our Savior’s hosts a Vacation Bible School. Our typical VBS week involves a captivating theme over four evenings, Monday through Thursday. Each session lasts about 2 hours. Elaborate decorations, exciting activities, creative treats, and memorable crafts are part of each VBS week.
· Children’s Messages in Worship – On most Sundays that do not involve Holy Communion our pastor will present a short object lesson for young children. Prior to the sermon little children will be invited to the front of church to have a specially crafted message on their level. Children learn that God’s Word is for them as well as for adults.
